Giving Us ‘Accountant Access’ To Your Bookkeeping Software

You need to give us access to your online bookkeeping software (Quickbooks, Xero, etc.) so that we can perform our bookkeeping activities. Here are  screenshot tutorials regarding this process for the top 3 softwares on the market as of April 2023:

We work with all major accounting softwares, so just email us and we will walk you through the process.

Documents We Need From You

We need to collect information about the structure of your real estate holdings so that we can correctly associate:

Ownership Entity  +  Property  + Bank Acct & Credit Cards

Be prepared to upload the following documents into your account within our secure cloud-based Accounting for Rentals and Flips Taxdome portal. You will start uploading your documents after your initial on-boarding session.

File folders will be clearly labelled for your uploads, to include:

  • Entity Folders
  • Property Folders
    • by property type, and then
      • sub-folder by address
    • Bank Statement Folders

Documents to Upload:

  1. Copies of all Entity documents. (Upload to property folder)
  2. Bank Statements and credit card statements of all the accounts you are using for your businesses to collect your rents & income and to pay any expenses. (Upload to property folder – Bank Statement Folder within)

    Be sure to associate:
    a) Property Address
    b) Ownership Entity
    c) Associated Bank Account and Credit Card Statements

  3. Mortgage Statements along with the amortization schedules for each property (Upload to property folder)
  4. Title Company/Attorney closing statements from the purchase and sale of every property for which you are tracking expenses/income (Upload to property folder)
  5. Statements from management companies, AIR BNB or VRBO types of services for each property which has these expenses. (Upload to property folder)
  6. Any other documentation you feel we should be aware of.

In the Client Questionnaire form (MS Excel document download below), please give us information regarding your Entities, including:

  1. Taxation classification
  2. Partners
  3. Associated Income
  4. Properties Owned by the Entity
  5. Associated Bank Accounts & Credit Cards

We will use this information to set up Online Document Folders in your Accounting for Rentals and Flips Taxdome Account as well as different Accounts within your accounting software, so please take your time and be as accurate as possible when entering this information.

Don’t Have MS Excel? (workaround)

  1. Save document to your hard drive or external drive
  2. Upload to your Google Docs Drive
  3. Edit and fill out Questionnaire in Google Sheets, saving as an .xlsx file when complete
  4. Return here to the Questionnaire Page and Upload the .xlsx file below.
